2010 DUSTBALL CHALLENGE IS OVER

The Dustball Rally too far away?  Can't wait for the next big event?  We have the answer -- an all-new event that requires: knowledge in navigation, driving skill, problem solving, critical decision-making and teamwork...

This is not a race, and actually it isn't even a rally.  It is a technical challenge, Dustball style.

Henceforth, from the organizers of the Dustball Rally, we proudly present:

The Dustball Challenge

This is truly a technical event that requires critical decision making and planning, as well as time management.  A team is classified as one vehicle with two persons.  Both must be more than just drivers; they must both be navigators, deciders, problem solvers, scavenger hunters and adventure seekers.  Like a traditional gimmick rally, there are gimmicks to find; however this is very different from the Dustball Rally, as there is no designated route.  Each team must plot their own route and set their own unique courses to locate each gimmick.

http://www.gpscoordinates.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Finding-GPS-Coordinates-4.jpg Instead of mixing directions with gimmick questions, this event is comprised of purely gimmick questions: At the start, each team will receive a packet and the clock starts.  Inside of the packet, each team will find a set of instructions designating a time limit and a unique list of latitude and longitude coordinates.  These grid coodinates listed are the locations of each gimmick question, in no particular order.  Teams must calculate the most efficient route to find all of the gimmicks with the given GPS coordinates.  A battle plan must be devised quickly to make efficient use of time, as there is a time limit.  The finish line will only be open for a certain length of time.  The team that finishes within the time limit and answers the most questions correct wins $500 cash, and more importantly be granted bragging rights...

Now you can see how this is very unique and challenging on all levels of competition, from navigational and driving skills to teamwork and critical decision-making.  This is like a scavenger hunt on steroids.

-All traffic laws must be obeyed at all times.

-Team members must be 18 years of age or older.

-Drivers must have a legal and valid driver's license.

-Cost is $100 per team (a team being one vehicle with two persons)

-Additional team members are not permitted.  This event is a test of two individuals to work efficiently as one.
-Award for the team that answers the most correct questions within the designated time limit wins $500 cash.
